If you use your VM browser to load a video (i.e youtube) with somewhat constant sound to test/confirm, you should notice the sound is normal (at least stereo).Īgain, I can send screen shots of my menus/settings, but I'd love to post them if there is a reasonable way of doing so. > Click the option for 'Spatial Sound(off) > and select 'Windows Sonic for headphones'. GUEST VM Audio Settings: Host Audio Driver = 'Core Audio' Audio Controller = 'Intel HD Audio'įIX - Once the VM is loaded and logged in, in the System Tray, right-click the Speaker icon. To enable audio for a guest, select the Enable Audio check box. GUEST - Windows 10 Pro N, Ver -1809, OS Build -17763.195 Audio Settings The Audio section in a virtual machine's Settings window determines whether the VM will detect a connected sound card, and if the audio output should be played on the host system. My settings and versions are as follows, with my 'fix' at the end. The audio from the guest should start playing as well.
I have screen shots, but not sure how to share/post (happily accepting suggestions for that part). 3) BEFORE attempting to play sound from the guest, start an application that engages the audio device on the Win 10 host (I use a youtube video) 4) While audio is playing on the host, attempt to play audio from the guest.
Found a fairly easy fix and thought I'd share. Noticed others having same problem but few/no solutions. Was having problems with audio crackling in my Windows 10 Pro guest VM on Mac Mojave host.
